It appears as though my twelve grand is up, so Dr.3 is making me go to a regular lab with regular people, and boring nurses lest I stay with him and pay out of pocket for all future blood work. Or any work for that matter. My u/s at the end of the month is OOP, as well. But I’ve come to love my clinic. My nurses are great, and they’re sweet, and good at what they do.
But, the lab; It’s full of the sick people. And the techs; They seem to be much less discrete about asking people for urine and OTHER samples. Which shouldn’t weird me out, but it does. And holy crap did my phlebotomist SUCK. I have very easy veins, I’ve been told this many times. And while this chick didn’t actually miss my vein, my only guess is that she was very, very angry with it. At least that’s all I could come up with. It felt like she was jamming a chopstick into my arm. And I’m thinking, 'WOMAN, this is ALL you do – ALL day long… How could you not be at least decent at it???'
Any. Way. The last week has gone by pretty well. Meaning I haven’t made myself too crazy. I stopped POAS Wednesday because it was making me more neurotic. But I did decided to use the last one in the box Sunday morning, cause well, it was just sitting there. All dry and clean…. I was thrilled when the test line appeared to suck up most of the dye, leaving the control line pretty faint. And actually the control line took a while to even be visible. In the way of symptoms there is still not a whole lot going on. I’m getting a little tired in the afternoons, my girls hurt so bad that it wakes me up at night. I read an article that suggested wearing a bra to bed, but that sounds about as appealing as wearing a studded belt with my nightgown. But the pain is kind of getting kind of ridiculous, so I might give in. The cramping has quieted down a little which seems scary, but I’m doing my best not to completely over analyze the lack of twinges. Because the bottom line is, I’m just so grateful to have gotten this far.
So I'm guess the suspense must be killing you, because I'm already dead from waiting forever and a day for Beta#3 results. I got my blood drawn at like 9 am (after waiting 45 minutes) and silly me, I asked the lab tech when the results would be available. She said they'd be to my clinic by NOON. Which meant every second after 11:59 am Pacific Standard Time, went.........by........like........t.h.i.s..... So I called to harass them around 3:30 but chickened out of opting for the emergency line and left a breezy voicemail, like I was just wondering if they might happen to have an idea. By any chance.... At 4:30 still no call back, and I know that they kick the night mode on at a quarter to five, so I hauled ass out to my car and called them again. This time choosing to speak with an operator. They finally got me to a nurse and she politely explained that the results must be seen by Dr. 3 before they can call the patient.... Then she said "Your results were great. 4,873"... Progesterone dipped a little to 43, but she said that's normal, and they're happy with it. They want to see anything between 9 - 50, at this point in the pregnancy.
Holy fucking shit.
I really am pregnant.

I am so so so so happy for you!
The biggest, most gigantic, heart-felt congratulations in the world to you, my friend! You and Brian are well on your way to becoming PARENTS! (not tryin' to knock Parker, but you know what I mean (; )
I'm just so happy for you.
Hope to have a celebratory meal with you and Brian soon! <3

You really are! :)
Congratulations!
Oh wow! That is wonderful news!!
Also, I used to wear a bra to sleep in when I was developing (I have ~huge~ tracts of land) and I'd recommend getting a really nice supportive NON-UNDERWIRE one (stretchy and comfortable looking) and it totally will help with the achy stuff. Reining the girls in will help since they won't be shifting around so much when you move in your sleep.
OMG you're pregnant!!
Yes indeedy lady you are!! So so fantastic. Try and take it easy, i'm sure the pregnancy symptoms will begin in earnest soon enough. So to add to your painful boobs you'll be throwing up and won't be able to stand the sight or smell of food! Hurrah! So much to look forward to (im being serious no sarcasm implied whatsoever). Take care of yourself... ooh and little tip no more underwired bras. Apparently can damage milk ducts in the side of your breasts, i switched to a maternity bra pretty early on as the girls went up a size fast. I found a well fitted top instead of a bra helped for sleeping.
So so happy for you and Brian you must be over the moon. Finally f@cking finally!! Can't wait to hear more and more good news xx
WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Now, the big question: how many are cooking in there?! Guess we'll find out soon at the ultrasound! (Did that sound like I was coming with you to the ultrasound? Can you tell I'm a tad excited?!)
You're pregnant, Melissa!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!! Yay! Congratulations! That is unbelievable news! So happy for you!
:) yay!!!!!!!!
Yes, congratulations!!
Holy Fucking Shit is right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you!
(My verification word right now is "aciddick" I shit you not.)
What wonderful Beta numbers!!! CONGRATS!!!
Wow you are totally, nequivocally pregnant! Congratulations!!!
WONDERFUL news!!! On the boobie front, I can't sleep anymore without my sports bra - it's one of those pull over head, completely soft but hold your boobs in kind of things. It works great. As soon as I come home from work, I immediately take off the underwire (didn't know could hurt milk ducts - must buy new bras) and put on the sports bra - makes a huge difference! Enjoy this moment!!!
Holy fucking shit indeed!
Yayhoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats and best wishes on the next steps!
Phew, I can tell I'm just a few days behind you.
My blood draw for beta #2 was at the local hospital, and the lady SUCKED. I donated plasma all through college for money - I have ALWAYS been told that my veins are the easist ever. This woman told me "hm...your veins are kind of wiry...this might be difficult."
WTF? Um, no, you just suck.
Also, I could barely sleep last night b/c every time I rolled over I woke up b/c of my boobs. Yikes! Also, my husband tweaked my nipple 2 days ago and he almost lost his arm. HOLY HELL they are not allowed to be touched at this point.
This is really happening for us!!!
OMG, OMG, OMG!! I love this. Sorry I haven't been checking blogs in the last week or so!! I am so hopeful and happy for you. You so deserve this and are in my thoughts.
Yay! Yay! Yay!!!!!!!!! What a relief, huh?
That, my friend, is a beta!! So so happy for you!
And...chills. Yayayayayayayayayay!!!!!!!!
Congratulations! :)
Yipeeee!! So damn happy for you!
I recommend one of those elastic sports bras by Champ.ion. You can get them cheap at Tar.get ($12 max).
That's what I wear on weekends to garden, etc. They hold in my 32D's nicely and should do the job of your PG boob.ies.
