Thanks for your thoughtful, and helpful comments on my last
So my appointment went well this morning. (she recounts sheepishly.) I told the NP (nurse practitioner), about my P4 drop, and she said as long as I'm on the supps, she has no concerns. Levels bounce a little after stopping supplementation... Which sounded familiar. For my last two u/s' the baby was measuring a day behind, which they told me was no big deal, but today the baby was measuring a day ahead! That made me feel a whole lot better. We got to see and hear the heartbeat again. I told her that I had been worrying, and that this part is so much scarier than I had imagined. She smiled and told me there was no reason that I should torture myself with panic and that they are more than happy to do a "Peace of Mind" ultrasound between appointments. Then on that note, she told me to schedule my next appointment in two weeks. God Bless her.
I have a few more posts a'brewin'. I'll try to make them somewhat coherent in the near future, as well as get the latest pic up.
Thanks again folks.

Melissa, I'm so glad to hear that your appointment went well and that you are feeling reassured. The IF-related "PTSD," coupled with knowing WAY too much about what can go wrong, is tough.
Glad to hear that your NP is happy to accommodate you with extra u/s!
P.S. My word verification word is "screw". Ha!
I totally agree, post BFP can be even scarier than pre-BFP. Glad everything is looking good!
SO glad to hear that everything is going so well! Yay for baby looking good! And I agree - I would love an ultrasound machine at home...
I'm so glad things are going well! I just saw your progesterone post this morning and didn't get a moment to comment, so I was thinking of you. I think my doc said the same thing about progesterone when you're coming of supplementation, but it's hard for me to comment since I had 4 placentas in there making their own progesterone so a drop wouldn't look the same. Yay for baby measuring a day ahead!! =)
So glad to hear about the good appointment and thank goodness the NP is understanding!

So glad to hear that all is well with mama and baby!!
Get a doppler, woman. Best $100 I ever spent. I used it once or twice a day until I could feel the baby move, and then I still used it a couple times a week. You can pick them up on E-Bay pretty cheap and they are so worth the peace of mind. Also, I'm a chunky lady (OK, I'm really, really fat) and had no problem picking up a heartbeat at 13 weeks, so I'm guessing if you are of average'ish proportions you should be able to pick yours up, too.
Also, my sister carried three pregnancies to term and has never had a p4 higher than 17. They "like" to see p4 higher than 20, but some women just have lower progesterone levels and still have perfectly uneventful pregnancies.
Wonderful to hear all is okay for you and baby! No worries, Chica, it's okay to be scared sometimes. That is what we are here to do, is listen. :)
Also, funny that you mention Tom Cruise because I was just at the gym and they were showing Knight & Day (or something like that) and it horrible in a really funny way. It was like watching a parody of him and his acting style in a cheesey semi-action flick where guy get's the girl. I could not help stop myself from laughing and everyone else in the gym is all serious.
(Sorry if this may be pirating your blog, but I find it funny you mentioned him.)
So lovely to hear all is good. 12 weeks is just around the corner. So excited for you xx
I completely agree with the suggestion to get a doppler. I wish I could remember where I rented mine. Seriously, Matt was worried about me getting one because "What if you have trouble finding the heartbeat on your own? You'll freak and it'll create more anxiety." But I just HAD to get one anyway, and it was such a peace of mind for me during that nerve-wracking first trimester. I would get home from work, dump my keys & purse, and run to the bedroom to check the heartbeat (which, I might add, I found easily every time). I sent it back during the second trimester once I felt more comfortable. An ultrasound machine would be nice, too, but the doppler is a tad more affordable. ;)
I promise the nervousness gets better as the pregnancy progresses. Then your 3rd tri rolls around and you start getting nervous about L&D. ;) So, basically, you have your 2nd trimester to relax. Haha.
Just catching up. So glad you were able to get this peace of mind! Happy the nurse had reassuring words for you. XOXO
I must have sighed the biggest sigh of relief when we saw our baby on the us at our first ob appt this week. The dr looked at me and said, "okay honey you can come in ANYTIME and we'll show that the baby ANYTIME" It was nice to hear that kind of reassurance, and that she understood the anxiety that I'd been carrying.
I'd always thought that the doppler idea was a little crazy, but oh my gosh do I want one now. I'm not sure how to bring it up with my husband, though. Its either that or I am going to drag the man to the OB with me every week to get some reassurance that all is well in there!
Sorry so late to comment - but I thought the same thing when I was pregnant, and said it often - Ton Cruise was on to something with that u/s machine. Makes you wonder what they went through to get Suri.
Hope all continues to go well for you, and take that nurse up on her offer of extra u/s. They are good things when you are freaking out.
