Sweet Jesus am I glad to be able to write this post... We haven't been getting any Internet at my house for the past few days, so I ended up spending SIX HOURS straight on the phone with technical support trying to fix it. SIX HOURS. I actually cried while I was on hold. Twice. I cry really easily over sappy stuff in books and movies, but I'm not typically one to cry over stupid shit like a computer. I was so exhausted after all that I didn't even want to look at my laptop. Even after a few days. So forgive me that my commenting and posting has been so light. And on top of all that, I got lapped for the THIRD time by this "guy".
Anyway, the saga continues with "What the crap are we going to do now?". I made an appointment with a urologist for Brian, for this Friday. Like the obsessive and controlling supportive little wifey that I am, I will be attending. (Hey Teresa, can I leave early Friday?). The RE we saw recently recommend that he go see a urologist whether it was for infertility or not. Just to make sure there are no other underlying issues. Our old RE told us not to even bother... That it would be a complete waste of time... Fucker- that's just one more reason I want to punch him in the face. So we are going to make sure there are no other problems and I think I want to ask him to do a DNA Fragmentation test on another Semen Analysis. From what I understand when your fragmentation is above 30-35%, your risk of miscarriage is higher and your possibility of fertilization is lower. Something that concerns me on top of the gamble of our one time shot at IVF w/ ICSI...
But on to happier things!
I would like to announce the winner of the Eventually necklace giveaway, Drum roll please: It's Dee from Where'smy2lines!!!!! Wooo hoo!!! Dee is a rockstar veteran who is about to embark upon her seventh IVF with a brand new, and fabulous RE at her service. After reviewing all of her tests and history he has made some big changes in her diagnosis and protocol for this next round. I have every hope that Dee's eventual baby will be here before she knows it! When you get a second please stop by her blog to give her your best wishes!

We seem to have the same sense of humor because I always laugh when I read your posts. You are so honest and don't sugar coat anything!!
I hope things go well at the urologist.
I'm sorry about your computer probs...glad to have you back! I've never heard of the DNA test. I don't think we've had that one done yet. I just may look into it! Good luck at the urologist...can't wait to see how things go!
Oh my - I spent 4 hours on the phone with Verizon once - I cried too! You are an amazing advocate for yourself and your man - and your eventual child!
Good to hear from you!
Grr...that sounds incredibly, horribly frustrating! Glad you got it straightened out. And I would have cried, too.
I'm looking forward to hearing about the appointment with the uro.
Glad you're back up and running!
Let me know what you find out about sperm DNA--I was always told that the treatment is super high dose antioxidants, but maybe there is more to do?
Wishing you good luck at that visit!
6 hours?!? I would cry, too. That phone call sounded horrible.
Good luck at Brian's urologist appointment.
So sorry about your computer problems; that just stinks.
Freak napalm incident on your dumbass RE. That's all I'm saying... :)
SIX hours??? You should have been like, "Listen, lady! Being tortured by you on the phone is NOT my day job!" Ugh. Glad everything finally got squared away.
I think it's excellent that Brian's going to see the urologist. You're going to get so much valuable information! (I'm paranoid that we'll have fragmentation issues....even though T's sperm looks fine)
Glad you're back :)
I hope you get some encouragement or good info from the new urologist. I never felt like we got clear answers, ever!! Made me feel like MF is just uncharted territory, and each cycle a gamble. I hope they are able to help you guys more than that!
Hey glad to see you back. I think that's a great idea about more testing. You are right about the DNA Frag test so that's why we ended up doing it. Best of luck with the results. Does your new RE think they need to do anymore testing on you? I would hate for you to go thru all the treatments and not have all the info you need. I know you haven't had any M/Cs but maybe you could get some of the blood clot disorders checked just to be sure. I'm actually requesting some to be done on me, just for peace of mind. I hope things kind of calm down for you and you can get all these tests out of the way and get the results back really soon. KMFC for some good news!
Just had huge computer problems too - no blogging for days, so frustrating! Glad to hear Brian is going to see a urologist, hope you get some answers there that help you to decide which path you want to go down. Wishing you much luck for tomorrow. xx
We got a 35% DNA frag on my DH's sperm test, they said that is still OK, borderline. Seeing a urologist is really a good idea. We were also told it would help but putting that aside my hubby was actually in pain from his varicoceles and once they were removed things did improve a bit.
Thanks again for my awesome prize!! Im so damn excited to look out for my parcel!! xxx
I hope Brian's appointment went well today!
Thinking of ya~
And glad the Internet Gods decided to release their hold and send you back to Blogland!
I hope your appt with the uro was beneficial. I'm always put off by doctors that see no point in looking at EVERYTHING!
six stinkin hours wow!!!!
WTH? That guy has 3 kids now? Are you kidding me?
It's good you're being proactive about the testing. Arming yourself with more information makes you a better advocate for yourself in the end.
And I'm so glad such a deserving person won your necklace. That was a great idea!!
Cable/internet companies drive me mad. We only have one up here in Alaska, so they can pretty much do and charge whatever they want, and if something goes wrong? Six hours would be pretty normal... I'm so sorry!
How did the urologist appointment go???
I'm also very curious... with the Sharks divided up on teams for the Olympics, who are you cheering for? USA or Canada? I thought about you while watching the game last night. :)
I agree with Jessica, I always get a laugh out of your posts and really really hope you get some answers from the urologist. And I hope you get to punch your old RE in the nose some day (preferably when you are heavily pregnant with a baby concieved at a different clinic). xxx

Yikes! Six hours! That's crazy! Even though you typed it and bold, I still went back and double checked!
I hope that this new RE does the trick for you and that the urologist visit turns out well.
just came across your blog this morning and made myself blind reading most of the posts! boohoo for dumb doctor's, and i wish you LOTS of luck :o)
