Thank you all for the birthday wishes, my weekend was better than I could have hoped for. We went to dinner Friday night, did a movie marathon Saturday during the day, then finished up by using my spa gift cards (from Christmas) to get both of us massages! Which were fantastic save one thing. My girls. O-M-F-G do my boobs hurt. Laying on my stomach while the masseuse was doing my back was borderline agony. I almost asked her to stop. I've grown accustomed to the typical cast of characters as far as my PMS goes, but it's been all over the place since dealing with meds. Namely the progesterone. Sore boobs have always been a significant symptom, they'd start getting sore the day after I ovulated, and continue that way until I got my period. But once I started the progesterone the soreness was gone... HALLELUJAH!!! I sort of welcomed all the other crappy side effects from the Prometrium because I had been spared from the two weeks of barely being able to sleep on my stomach because my girls hurt so bad... Actually the worst part was taking off my bra at the end of the day.
But now my last two cycles have been fairly strange. The first period I had after my last BFN was nine days early. And I'm fairly certain I didn't ovulate, I'm one of the freaks who can feel it, and I never had any EWCM. And I'm pretty sure I didn't ovulate in February either because again both main indicators were MIA. As was my period, which this time was nine days late. And all the while, my girls stayed silent. Until I got my period, she showed up the day after I finally gave in and tested. (No miracle BFP for us, no way, no how!) So since the day my tardy period showed up my girls have been sore. I finally ovulated on Wednesday last week and from that day on they've gotten even MORE sore - GAH! At one point Brian got so tired of hearing me complain that he barked out: "Jesus, you should go get them checked out!" As if they're sprained ankles or something... I was about to sarcastically thank him for his compassion when he quipped that it would probably suck a lot if his boys were sore for weeks at a time. Indeed, Sir.
Anyone else have anything like that? - Odd cycles and strong PMS symptoms after stopping medicated cycles?
Anyway, where was I ? Right - the weekend. So yes, I had a lovely birthday although I insisted that Brian not call it my "birthday weekend" and just call it my "me-time". I didn't really want to acknowledge it much. Thirty one - oy vey. It's not that I feel old or anything, it's just absorbing the fact that I'm not twenty-two anymore. Which in a way - thank gawd for that. But you know what I mean... Back to my "me-time" I think hands down the best part of my weekend was having Brian all to myself. He's been pretty busy with his company as of late, so it was quite the treat to steal him away. Thanks for spoiling me dear.

Happy belated "you-time"! :)
I'm so glad you had a relaxing and fun weekend with Brian. I hope the girls feel better soon. That is one thing I can't relate to...I've always wanted mine to get sore as a sign of pregnancy - and end up tormenting them in hopes of feeling something!
Sounds like a lovely b-day weekend...that is except for the girls acting up!
Like Alice, I know what it's like to poke and prod at my boobs thinking, "I'll MAKE 'EM sore!" in search of pg symptoms. But I don't experience pre/post PMS boob soreness.
My acupuncturist once told me that boob soreness directly in the nipple is a pg indicator, but 'side soreness' is typically PMS?
But sounds like you are having all-over, all-the-time soreness! Ouch!
I hope it goes away soon...pain is no fun, esp in such a sensitive area. :(
So glad you got me-time - I hope you can have more of it! I am 35 and remember the thirties sneaking past me...((HUGS))
I'm so glad you had a great birthday (weekend). You deserve it!
My cycles after IF treatments became all over the place. I also have tender bbs in the days leading up to my period, which is why I never used that as a gauge on the Am-I-Pregnant? scale.
I hope you have a great time in Atlanta. Check out the Flying Biscuit if you're looking for some good breakfast eats!
Happy belated b-day! Your weekend sounds nice and relaxing! You definitely deserved it and I'm glad you had time with Brian especially since he has been so busy lately. Ugh the sore boobs suck! I'm sorry you're dealing with them. I'm one of those girls that gets them every cycle and really badly too, so I totally can relate to the frustration, agony and irritation they bring. That's so funny about Brian's comment. I'm glad he realized the severity of the problem :) Happy birthday again! Love you!
I'm still jealous of your Me-Time weekend. =) Sounds like you and Brian were able to completely chill and just enjoy each other's company. Perfect.
I'm sorry for the wonky cycles and boobage pain. =-/ I wish I had some advice.
It's almost time for Atlanta! I'm stoked for you. =)
It sounds like a very lovely me-time weekend! And though you probably don't want to hear it, you're still quite young :)
Glad you got some hubby time too!
Gah! remember when I wasn't constantly behind on all my blog reading??? HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL. You're still my hero. xoxo (oh and medicated cycles that failed made my cycle so out of whack that it was ridiculous. Well almost as ridiculous as post IVF/IUI break cycles. I was told it's normal for things to be a little weird...
So glad you had a great weekend of you-time!
Man, I feel sorry for you and how much your b.oobs hurt! I have only had that on this one bcp I was on (back when I was on bcp...sigh...) and it was torture.
I agree with pp - my post medicated cycles were weird. One or two were annovulatory, and I think it is the only time I have not ovulated. I hope things get back to normal soon.
I like the idea of calling it "Me-time" !
I had to laugh at brian saying "maybe you should get your boobs checked". Ah, men, always offering solutions!
Re: inconsistant cycles. I'm the queen of inconsistancy... I'm up to my 2nd or 3rd cycle after ivf and things are still a bit wobbly, but I must admit that acupuncture has helped heaps. I'm sure the sore boobs are a pain (literally) but maybe it means that things are getting back to normal for you?
Hi Melissa - about the PMS and sore boobs, it's a sign that your hormonal system is out of whack. It used to happen to me too when I had been particularly stressed. The thing that helped me the most were some herbs I took in pill form that my mum prescribed for me - I took DIM Vitex. If you can get it I recommend it. The active ingredient is a herb called Agnus Castus - if you need to find it separately, it worked wonders for me. Removed all PMS and period pain and my cycles were like clockwork after. Hugs.
Sorry about the sore boobs ... I usually got that around 8 or 9 DPO and then it subsided around 12 or 13 DPO but there wasn't much happening actually at ovulation or any other time. It was pretty much the same medicated or unmedicated (except for more intense symptoms when on meds). I wish I could be more help!
I am glad you enjoyed your "me-time"! =)
I am so glad that you and Brian got to spend some time together for your birthday. It is always nice to get to spend some quality time with the man you love - even if he doesn't get the sore BBs. I hope the girls are a little less sore by now.
As far as the inconsistencies, I did experience that when I came off of medicated cycles. And my AF symptoms seem to be much worse those first couple of months for some reason...
Can't wait for Friday!!!
Happy belated birthday!
Sounds like a good one. :)
I'm glad you had a happy birthday and fun weekend! I think it's normal for your cycles to be off...mine are all over the place and I'm a raging bitch from PMS. Hopefully they will eventually straighten out. I hope your tatas feel better soon!
So glad you had an excellent Me-Time!
I am impatiently waiting for details about last weekend... :)
I bet you had so much fun!
